Location Walls
The location was a large open space and needed to be closed off. The result was to use flats to close off larger sections of walls and paint them to blend into the existing location walls. The existing walls were warmed-toned neutral walls with speckling of brown and light blue.
Scenic Process
The walls were primed with a base of beige and sprayed with a thinned light blue paint. After drying a thicker spray of dark brown paint was added to the walls in a tighter spray setting.

Process Pics
The progress of the backdrop included prepping the backdrop with a wash of thinned paint as a mid-tone. From there the lighter and darker shapes of the horizon, clouds, and the runway were added. The cloth used was a canvas drop cloth that was 8'x15'. Paint brushes, sprayers, and sponges were used to create the textures and forms. After the initial forms were painted a spray of white was used to fog out the the stark lines.
